this year's theme...

"A Faith to Believe In"

"Unitarian Universalism is not the lowest common denominator; it is the highest common calling. The world is in need of your theology." In this way, Diana Eck challenges us to make our theology pertinent in these times.

We will begin by a look at how two of our predecessors attempted to look forward. The 19th century transcendentalist Frederic Henry Hedge sketched out what a “Broad Church” in Unitarian context would include.

The early 20th century philosopher Josiah Royce likewise envisioned a broad and open Christianity that he called Beloved Community. We will ground ourselves in these two thinkers and, in addition, read some contemporary voices who may be shaping the future of religion in our time.

Guests:

We are delighted that the Reverends David and Beverly Bumbaugh will be with us to bring our Universalist theology fully into the discussion and guide us with their experience and wisdom.
